A moment's siesta in the heat of the day is so skilfully suggested by the use of contrasting warm and cool colours. There is also a beautiful rhythm and depth to this composition as the eye is drawn from the foreground stonework, up the curving steps, following the edge of the shadow on the house-wall and then on to the mountain in the distance.
